There and Back Again

You would think Scotland is nothing more than hills, sheep, and mist- but hidden under the kilts and tartan trousers is more; Delicacies such as haggis, deep fried Mars Bars, and Clapshot, and places such as Glen Etive, and Edinburgh.

But here is the real attraction: The highland cow. However it manages to see out from the hair covering its eyes, all we know is it's there, and everyone, whether you live in Scotland or are just visiting, has to see one of these before we die.
Also, a little inn resides in a mouthful of a name: Balquhidder, Lochearnhead. Set off the A84 road, this stylish, 5-room budget motel is just a short drive from Rob Roy's grave. Here you'll find comfy rooms, a pool table, cooked to order breakfast, tea and cakes in the afternoon, an ever-changing dinner menu (With some proper British fish and chips) and to top it off, a beautiful view onto mountains surrounded by mist and rain most of the time. While away the rainy days by playing pool, using the jukebox, or sitting at the bar- or hike up the many trails and hills nearby.

This is Glengoyne Distillery. Come here and get a tour, see how the whiskey is aged and matured in casks, see how the barley gets turned into whiskey. But most of all, come here and buy all the whiskey you want. From 10-25 year old whiskey- Wait, there's the 35 year old one on sale for 750 pounds. But also sold are flasks, glasses, Haggis Whistles (Under-researched tourists come to Scotland with the belief that Haggis is an animal, not a delicacy. Scotland has built on that belief and made an inside joke about it.)
Who knows where the misty picture of the highlands was taken (Actually, I'm sure someone does) But this is the constant view out of your car window. If it's not raining (Unlikely) there's a beautiful mist around the mountains.

There are many places to explore in Scotland- go find them.
